WorkWave works with TRUSTe LLC, a subsidiary of TrustArc Inc, to review and verify that its privacy practices meet the requirements of the EU and Swiss data transfer frameworks.

Holmdel, N.J. (Oct 10, 2018) – WorkWave®, a leading provider of software solutions for the field service and last-mile delivery industries, today announced that is has achieved renewal of its EU – U.S. Privacy Shield and Swiss – U.S. Privacy Shield certifications with the U.S. Department of Commerce.

WorkWave worked with TRUSTe LLC (“TRUSTe”), a wholly owned subsidiary of TrustArc, to review and verify that it complies with the EU-U.S. Privacy Shield Framework and the Swiss – U.S. Privacy Shield Framework, as set forth by the U.S. Department of Commerce regarding the collection, use and retention of personal information transferred from the European Union and Switzerland to the United States, respectively. TRUSTe will also provide independent dispute resolution services to address privacy-related questions around customer data from users and ongoing access to privacy guidance.

“Protecting the privacy of our customers is a top priority for WorkWave, and by working with TRUSTe, we are able to ensure that we are providing the utmost security for our customers and their data,” said Mike Profit, Chief Product and Service Officer. “We take pride in achieving both EU – U.S. Privacy Shield and Swiss – U.S. Privacy Shield certifications as we continue to make data security one of our top priorities.”

TRUSTe follows a three-phase process to prepare companies for EU – U.S. Privacy Shield and Swiss – U.S. Privacy Shield certifications, using a combination of experienced privacy analysts and proven assessment methodology powered by the TrustArc privacy platform.

  • Phase I includes a comprehensive review of the company’s privacy practices against the Privacy Shield Principles and creation of a detailed privacy findings report.
  • Phase II includes a collaborative review of the findings, implementation of remediation recommendations and documentation of action item resolution.
  • Phase III includes certification activation, including issuing the TRUSTe seal and activation of dispute resolution services for customer data. The solution also includes access to ongoing privacy guidance along with use of TrustArc Assessment Manager to review the compliance report.

TrustArc CEO Chris Babel said, “We believe a strong privacy management program is critical for companies to build customer trust and ensure compliance. We reviewed the practices of WorkWave to help ensure that they meet the requirements of the EU and Swiss Privacy Shield Frameworks and can demonstrate their privacy commitment to users, partners and regulators.”
